LASP Guitar Festival

Featuring performances by Edel Muñoz & Nemanja Ostojic and the winner of the Youth Guitar Competition on January 31st.


A Cuban native and U.S. resident, Edel Muñoz is one of the most acclaimed and sought-after players in the classical guitar scene. Edel is the first prize winner in more than 20 international guitar competitions including the Boston Guitar Fest, the Miguel Llobet International Competition in Barcelona, the Montreal International Guitar Competition and the Havana International Guitar Competition. He was only 13 years old when Leo Brower described him already as a “consummate professional” in every sense.

As a concert guitarist, Edel has performed in more than 25 countries and in major concert halls, including Carnegie Hall. He is sought out as a teacher and is regularly invited to give master-classes in universities and conservatories world wide. From 1994-98, he taught classical guitar and directed the Guitar Quartet of the National School of Music in Havana. He has taught in various music schools and Conservatories in Spain.


As a winner of 16 international competitions, Nemanja Ostojic has appeared as soloist in 19 countries. He has performed with orchestras like Ankara’s Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic, Allentown Symphony, St. George Strings, and closely worked with conductors like Leo Brouwer, JoAnne Falletta, Dianne Wittry, Bujor Hoinic, etc. His discography includes the debut album “First Born” which has received the rave reviews from the Guitar Foundation of America, as well as the “Seichorde”, the leading Italian magazine for classical guitar. In 2007, the Italian label “La Guitarra” published DVD of Nemanja’s live concert in Milan’s Palazzina Liberty.

Nemanja Ostojic is a graduate of University of Belgrade, Serbia, as well as Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Nemanja Currently serves as faculty at University of Indianapolis Department of Music.
